As wine captain, He was on the floor helping guests with wine selections for concert service - as event captain I assisted the clients' event organizing staff as well as City Winery house managers facilitatiing successful events. He was promoted to management later that year, where he was able to learn inventory control for a venue that size, as well as taking lead on facilitating all wine-related events, also on coaching service staff and helping them learn our wine list. From 2019 to 2020, He worked with Andre Mack on opening his Ham bar, & Sons, in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. And Sons is a wine bar (all American wines) with a culinary focus on American ham, using a old-school Berkel meat slicer on country-bred and aged hams. He was a server who guided guests through the one menu they had in-house on a big board: they relied on his knowledge of wine and the selections they had on our menu. They offered elevated service in a cozy neighborhood setting.

The personal journey of Louie Rankin launching himself to stardom is an immigrant’s tale of seeking fame and fortune along his path to the United States. Louie Rankin was born in St. Thomas, Kingston. The area he grew up in was Rockfort. Rockfort, one of the six forts outside Port Royal that protected Kingston Harbor, was for a time the most important garrison after Fort Charles and Morgan’s Wall. Today the ruins remain, almost hidden by the buildings of the cement factory built there in the 1950s. In his youth, Louie Rankin migrated with his parents and siblings to Toronto, Canada due to impoverished conditions in Jamaica in the seventies. We asked Louie to give us a break down of life in Jamaica and why he wanted to leave for America. Louie paused for a brief moment as if he were downloading memories from a hard drive....then, is his raspy, hard Jamaican accent he narrates his vivid memories.“However, at my young age, I still was into music. I started off my music career when I was 14. I was doing freestyles on the corners and little clubs and little performances here and there. But I never got known until I actually had to leave Canada. I stayed one year in Canada and went to the United States of America, which was New York City. I met up with some of my family members and I was very persistent in what I wanted to do. So I stayed grinding on the streets trying to find little producers, trying to show people my talent. I was trying to do it all on my own.”Louie’s persistence paid off! During his early hustle with his music, he had the opportunity to bump into Vivan Blake. Vivan Blake was also of Jamaican descent and owned a record label at the time in New York City. Vivian became Louie’s musical life support. Blake had connections in certain clubs in New York where he would be able to get Louie booked for shows and had connections at HOT97 to get his music some airtime. Louie got 2 songs in rotation locally and was also noticed in 1990 after his hit “Typewriter” dropped. This small catalog of songs earned Louie a spot on tour to perform his hits all over the US, Canada and some parts of Europe. Because of the huge success of “Typewriter” Louie landed himself a recording contract with Mesa Records.

One of the greatest pleasures of my life is nurturing and caring for people through food. I'm David Robert Wellen, but you can call me DR FoodComa. For 32 years my gift was teaching biology and coaching football and wrestling, but my mission has always been cooking and sharing food to feed, nourish, and care for people, creating memories with food. Our family always welcomed anybody with a place to stay and, of course, a meal. My mom always had food ready to go, learning from my great-grandmother who always shared a meal with any visitor within minutes of them walking through the door. I started cooking at a young age—my dad made great breakfasts and taught me how to do the same. When I was 16 I was a
dishwasher at a restaurant. One day the head chef burned himself then looked at me and said, "You just got promoted." From there my natural ability kicked into overdrive, and since then I've worked in everything from a snack shack to a steakhouse, cooking and experiencing foods of all kinds. Since retiring from teaching, I've made it my new job to find and create tasty food experiences, whether it be a cheap but delicious cold cut sandwich or a chef's tasting menu worth hundreds of dollars. I am a self proclaimed doctor of foodology, so let's have a food experience.

A known MC from hip-hop's golden age, Grand Daddy I.U. had the smooth player image. Always donning a suit and tie, his verbal execution was aptly calm and collected; he had the skillful hardcore rhymes and produced his own urban-polished beats. Born in Queens but raised in Long Island town Hempstead, Grand Daddy I.U. entered the hip-hop business with his brother DJ Kay Cee, who convinced him to put together a demo tape. They eventually got the tape into the hands of Biz Markie, who signed Grand Daddy I.U. to Cold Chillin' in 1989. Containing Cold Chillin' favorites "Pick Up the Pace" and the smooth, hook-laden "Sugar Free," Smooth Assassin was his debut album in 1990. After his second album, Lead Pipe (1994), he dropped away from the mic booth for almost a decade afterward and continued to write and produce for other artists. Some of his productions appeared on albums by Das EFX, Heltah Skeltah, KRS-One, and Ice-T. Born in Gardena CA, raised in Lancaster CA. After seeing FORBES magazine at the
age of 12, Amilli was determined to be on the Forbes Billionaire List and do everything
in her power to become an Entrepreneur. A few unfortunate personal life events drove
her to Las Vegas, leading her to a journey as an Entrepreneur. Due to her brother
having ties in the Hip Hop Community, she was then introduced to Artists such as KING
T, LL COOL J, ICE CUBE, BIRDMAN and LIL WAYNE among others. While in the
studio listening to LIL WAYNE record “Me and My Drank” 2008, he decided to name her
“AMILLI”. At first, she thought he was just clowning around but then LIL WAYNE stated
“When I look at you, I see that your Powerful and Complete. You are good intellectually
and require several outlets for your energies. You are also not a builder but a planner,
and you want others to carry out your plans. Your Character Reflects Independent,
Inquisitive and Bold. Your Presence Demands Control and that you know what you want
and why you want it, while always looking for an opportunity to achieve financial and
emotional security”.
LIL WAYNE has always been like a brother and Mentor to her so she started going by
the name “AMILLI” the moment she left the studio that day. A couple of months later LIL
WAYNE released the single as the second official single from the album “Tha Carter III".
From that point on, She knew she was destined to be Great and prove to her Father
and LIL WAYNE that they were right.

At a young age, influenced by her mother; she listened to a lot of Biggie, Lil Kim, Jay-z, Nas, Foxy Brown and DMX. LilMissChitChat spent a lot of time cutting out magazines and dreaming what it would be like to have her own. When she got a little older she began listening to people like 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Camron, Juelz Santana and Nicki Minaj. Once Nicki Minaj came out, LilMissChitChat tried writing her own raps but was never passionate about the idea of being a rapper.
Following college, LilMissChitChat was asked to come onboard as an intern for a PR company who represented people like Amber Rose, Jill Zarin, Jay Alexander, Erica Mena and more. She then solidified a position with this company. While working there, she realized how much she liked the idea of blogs. Thus, she began guest blogging on reputable sites and then launched her own.
